  • Easier maintenance

What to Consider When Installing An In-Ground Basketball Hoop

There are a few key things to keep in mind when installing an in-ground basketball hoop.

First, make sure that the area you’re installing the hoop in is flat and level. Second, make sure that the surrounding soil is sturdy enough to support the hoop’s weight. Third, be sure to install the hoop at least 3 feet away from any trees or power lines. Finally, be aware of local building codes when installing your hoop.

How To Setup an In-Ground Basketball Hoop

Dig a hole at least twice as wide and as long as the hoop is tall. The hoop should be placed at the center of the hole. The depth of the hole shouldn't be too deep, as the weight of the hoop will cause it to sink into the ground.

Remove any rocks or roots from around the perimeter of the hoop. This will make it easier to attach the hoop to the pipe.

Cut the PVC pipe into 4' lengths and insert them into each end of the frame of the hoop. Use clamps or a bungee cord to secure them in place. Make sure that the hoop is level before securing it in place.
